Brighton – Brugal Part 2
Sunday, November 7th, 2010We’ve Seen the Future…
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010Due to a manic schedule (and maybe a bit of well earned laziness!) we have had what can only be described as a communications black out over the last few weeks. Well, back from travels sorting arrangements for forthcoming events which we’ll announce very soon, we thought we’d update you with a couple of posts on recent events.
Last month saw Wet Paint Productions’ Aerosol Art workshops kick off at the Open Market, Brighton, and we had a full house every time. From seven year-olds to a thirty something stag party, we found ourselves teaching the uninitiated how to spray paint and with great success. Our young apprentices especially threw themselves into the action and couldn’t wait to get their hands dirty as these pictures prove. Under the guidance of Foundry and Snub 23 we think we have helped to produce some budding little graffiti artists. We have to also thank Funky Red Dog and Limbo for their direction too.
Having already received a lot of requests for more we will update you soon with future dates.
Foundry and Wet Paint make The Argus
Monday, August 16th, 2010A couple of posts ago we showed you the pictures of Foundry’s work on the side of a jewelers called Studio Crafts in Peacehaven. Well we weren’t the only ones impressed. The Brighton Argus also took an interest and like buses, two articles come along at once! Foundry got in the picture but didn’t get a mention so we’re doing it for him. And he also wanted people to know that when the picture was taken the piece wasn’t finished! Skip back a couple of posts to see the completed works. We’d like to thank Phil Blackwell for the call and get in touch if you need Wet Paint Productions to organise something like this for your premises.
Art Meets Craft
Friday, August 6th, 2010Foundry
So, when Wet Paint were contacted by a family run goldsmiths and jewellers in Peacehaven (near Brighton) called Studio Crafts, the conversation went something like this:
“Hi, can you do some graffiti on the side of our shop?”
“Err, yes. What do you want exactly?”
“Well, we’re a jewellers and we want a realistic impression of our workshop on the outside of the shop.”
“Right…we’ll send in Foundry!”
So, after the tedious plumb lines for the perspectives went up and the cans came out, we wanted to share the amazing results with you. A huge thanks to the man Foundry – Mr. Photoreal himself, who was working in some pretty high winds at the time and for his sheer diligence and the expertise he brought to the job. This guy is seriously talented and his work never fails to impress.
So if your driving along the A259 to Brighton, keep your eyes peeled.

compArtment Opens With Live Graffiti
Sunday, August 1st, 2010As part of the launch of compARTment at the open market in Brighton yesterday, Wet Paint Productions were asked to provide some live painting (courtesy of SNUB 23 and Mishfit: finished piece HERE) to a backdrop of musical performances and fat beats and scratch mixing. Having been asked to coordinate artists to rejuvenate the space, a steady stream of writers and street artists have been flowing through there all week transforming what was a tired space into a wall of art. Wet Paint Productions, will be continuing this programme over the next month as well as holding graffiti workshops there – more information to follow soon. Wet Paint, have already begun working with local shop owners and the wider community to revitalise urban spaces, shops and workplaces. Pimp My T-Shirt
Friday, June 11th, 2010Last night saw one of Brighton’s finest Mishfit pimping T-shirts as part of the in-bar Brugal Brighton launch in pubs across the city centre. The rules are simple: buy a Brugal rum and you get a free tee for the artists to customize. The punters were definitely loving their shirts just as much as the rum. Tonight is the turn of Foundry and Snub 23 (recently back from his Secret Wars win at Upfest – so he has his eye in!). We’ll be at the Mash Tun from 8.30pm, the White Rabbit from 9.30pm and Riki Tik from 11.30pm. If you’re in Brighton and want some exclusive T-Shirts then make sure you’re at one of these venue tonight!
Brugal Brighton Burners
Saturday, June 5th, 2010True to our word, here are the pictures of the finished pieces from Don, Pinky, Mishfit and Foundry to launch the Brugal Brighton campaign. Urban art agency Wet Paint Productions would like to thank all of the artists for their vision and work. There will be more activity throughout June and we will update you on developments and plans so stay tuned. Now it’s time to celebrate with rum on the beach. Yeah man! Working with street artists WPP help blue chip clients to promote their company using a funky ‘street up’ approach. More pictures HERE.
Brugal Street Art Campaign Begins!
Thursday, June 3rd, 2010If you are anywhere near Brighton today we strongly advise you to get yourselves along to Jubilee Square. To kick off the Brugal campaign Wet Paint Productions have set up the Paint Box again – a 24ft x 8ft squared installation – for some artists to go to work on. These include Brighton’s own Pinky, Mishfit and Foundry. Don will also be there recreating this incredibly detailed piece which will feature as part of the poster campaign and can be seen at bus stops around the city from next week on. Live painting will continue tomorrow and we’ll post some images before the day is out.
Up, up and away!
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010Snub 23, Foundry, Avian Security, Dank and Vodker’s TB&TC (Komedia) wall has found its way onto the front cover of Access International – the premier publication read by professionals around the world who rent, use and manufacturer cherry pickers. VNA it aint but respect to the artists for their work which obviously caught the eye of the editor and the KHL Group who publish it.
