“Graffiti can be artistic…”

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Brighton graffiti and street art got some well deserved recognition in the way of a centre double page spread in The Argus, on Saturday 14th. Talking about an art revolution in the city they go on to extoll the benefits of graffiti bettering “unloved or monochrome areas”. The article features images of work by Aroe and Heavy Artillery, Req, Rarekind, Hutch and Banksy (we dispute that) to name a few. And although we don’t get a name check, Wet Paint Productions and the artists we work with are responsible for some of it too. That includes Snub 23 and Sinna who are both quoted in the article. To view it big hit HERE.

TB&TC Got Papped

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

The Beautiful and The Canned 2010 made the front cover of Brighton’s leading free magazine You Got Papped and also features on page 11. The June issue has been on the streets for only a matter of days and it is already hard to find so we thought we’d share this with you. It is packed with news from Brighton events like Great Escape and Fringe, as well as loads of art stuff. We’d like to thank editor Ben Crawford for the exposure and you can register to download images and find back issues HERE.

Stop Press!

Monday, May 17th, 2010

While we have been taking a few days off to regroup after TB&TC, it appears the artists’ work has caught people’s attention and made some headlines. This is a piece from Brighton’s daily newspaper, The Argus (page 5 no less- here Remi/Rough is pictured in front of his wall). Huge thanks to Fay MacDonald of Diosa Media for all her help to land TB&TC this year and for contacting the media post show.

A big shout out to RJ Rushmore of Vandalog for posting TB&TC on his blog last week. RJ is one of those tireless guys who is in it for the love of public art. Keep up the good fight! Click HERE to see the piece.
