Art Meets Craft

Friday, August 6th, 2010

So, when Wet Paint were contacted by a family run goldsmiths and jewellers in Peacehaven (near Brighton) called Studio Crafts, the conversation went something like this:

“Hi, can you do some graffiti on the side of our shop?”

“Err, yes. What do you want exactly?”

“Well, we’re a jewellers and we want a realistic impression of our workshop on the outside of the shop.”

“Right…we’ll send in Foundry!”

So, after the tedious plumb lines for the perspectives went up and the cans came out, we wanted to share the amazing results with you. A huge thanks to the man Foundry – Mr. Photoreal himself, who was working in some pretty high winds at the time and for his sheer diligence and the expertise he brought to the job. This guy is seriously talented and his work never fails to impress.

So if your driving along the A259 to Brighton, keep your eyes peeled.

Paint It Black!

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Wet Paint Productions, the organisers of TB&TC, earned the name today as we have spent most of it up scaffolding painting Prime Brighton, a great independent clothing shop in Gardner Street in the North Laine, in preparation for Remi/Rough’s arrival. We hope he’s not scared of heights as it a good few feet up as this picture proves. Anyone wanting to see Remi in action should be at this location on the corner of Church Street and Gardner Street from 11 am on Saturday to see a master at work!

At TB&TC HQ we’ve been receiving artists work for the last few days now and this cross section doesn’t even scratch the surface but we thought we’d give you a heads up anyway. We will have a lot of original work on sale at the TB&TC shop at Myhotel over the weekend of 8/9 May. The prices are as varied as the artist list. Hope to see you there.

TB&TC Hits the High Street

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Shuby and Funky Red Dog had the perfect day yesterday to pimp Brighton’s Shelter shop on Western Road. The window display is there to help promote the limited edition Tee-shirts designed by SNUB 23, Hutch and Funky Red Dog for this year’s TB&TC. Shelter have the first advanced consignment of just 30 so anyone wanting to get their hands on them will have to be quick because they won’t be there for long and all sales go directly to the Shelter shop. We will be selling the remaining 120 Tee’s at Myhotel over the weekend of 8/9 May. The combination of dancing girls and posing dogs definitely caused a stir and turned  heads. We’d like to thank Allen Sharratt, the store manager for all of his help and supplying laughs on the day.
