SheOne

Wet Paint Productions and Brighton played host to the mighty SheOne this weekend and got a brand new wall from the master of typography in to the bargain. SheOne is firmly routed in Brighton’s graffiti history going back to the early 80′s and along with Req, put up the first pieces on the city’s long-standing hall of fame, Black Rock. Flash forward thirty years and the London-based artist who has gained international recognition and proved that graffiti has a place in the contemporary art world, has taken his style across the globe. Recently, he and fellow Transcend collaborator O.Two, were personally invited to France by the mayor of Ville De Niort to paint a massive production on the side of the city’s Cultural Arts Centre. Last year SheOne was also one of just 100 of the world’s most celebrated writers and street artists invited to secretly paint a disused subway station in New York City as part of The Underbelly Project. Quite frankly, SheOne’s unique brand of abstract painting has led to collaborations and achievements too numerous to list here. That said, Wet paint are grateful to him for an amazing signature piece and urge you all to keep a close eye on his website for some out of sight projects looming on the horizon.

Snub 23 Beats The Buff

Friday, August 13th, 2010

This is the latest amazing piece by Snub23 that dominates Trafalgar Lane, Brighton, which already has Flickr alight with praise and fave stars. Wet Paint Productions were asked to organise an artist to paint this wall after a legal piece put up by Leeks during The Beautiful and the Canned weekend was mistakenly buffed by the council. The owner of the property wasn’t too happy when he found out and got onto Brighton & Hove City Council to complain. So after a call requesting our help we thought who better to ask than the Snub Meister himself. We are not alone in loving this new work – which is all freehand – and predict you will see more like this in the future.

Up, up and away!

Snub 23, Foundry, Avian Security, Dank and Vodker’s TB&TC (Komedia) wall has found its way onto the front cover of Access International – the premier publication read by  professionals around the world who rent, use and manufacturer cherry pickers. VNA it aint but respect to the artists for their work which obviously caught the eye of the editor and the KHL Group who publish it.

Stop Press!

Monday, May 17th, 2010

While we have been taking a few days off to regroup after TB&TC, it appears the artists’ work has caught people’s attention and made some headlines. This is a piece from Brighton’s daily newspaper, The Argus (page 5 no less- here Remi/Rough is pictured in front of his wall). Huge thanks to Fay MacDonald of Diosa Media for all her help to land TB&TC this year and for contacting the media post show.

A big shout out to RJ Rushmore of Vandalog for posting TB&TC on his blog last week. RJ is one of those tireless guys who is in it for the love of public art. Keep up the good fight! Click HERE to see the piece.

Wet Paint Strikes Again

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

The last wall of the day to be given a facelift was in Buckingham Street near Brighton Station. This spot will be painted by Blam, Smug One (down from Glasgow) and Estum, and it’s going to be a killer. All of these artists have serious kills and we can’t wait to show you the finished piece. Of course, you could always make it down to Brighton to see it going up for yourselves. Here is the LOCATION. And if it rains or you get a little thirsty there’s The Eddy pub directly opposite. TB&TC reaches the parts other paint jams cannot reach!

TB&TC To Get a Facelift

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

This year at TB&TC we have some big walls that ladders just aren’t going to reach! So expect to see some of the artists working at height. Some will be on scaffold and towers and one wall in particular is going to need something entirely different!  So, with more than 60 different types of specialized equipment, enter our good friends Facelift. In their 25th year, Facelift are one of the premier powered access platform and cherry picker hire specialists in the UK and they have very kindly donated us some equipment to get the job done. If that wasn’t enough they are also going to train two of the TB&TC artists to use the equipment safely at their Hickstead  HQ Training Centre and give them official IPAF accreditation. Facelift are not only known for their extensive range of equipment, customer service and safety training record but for their all round excellence. We would like to take this opportunity to thank  Managing Director Gordon Leicester  for his huge generosity and help.
